John Mayer's best tour yet!
This Battle Studies tour is by far the best! The production, the playing, the sound, the sincerity...John was on fire in a way that I haven't experienced before. The banter was hilarious, with some old RFS tunes thrown in. I will say that this was my 5th Candlelight Jazz: The Best of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole show. There was less banter than previous shows, and more playing/noodling. Mayers final encore performance of "Gravity" was mind-blowing, as was "Assassins", which ended with him on the ground, invoking the spirit of Hendrix a la Monterrey. The set was incredible, including an impromptu "sign" song which had the crowd rolling. I really felt that he was so thankful everyone was there (recent interview mishap- totally overblown and taken out of context). All in all, I will not forget the experience.
